Lost Lands- 28th September 2000Party: Alfie, El Hoggo, Nogbad, Ra (eventually).Related by El Hoggo I met with Alfie and Nogbad at Empath Abbey. We then made our way to the secret passge that connects Yew Gaol with the Lost Lands and descended into them - that's where the first problem ocurred............................
OK - so we're back together - we decided to press on, down the stairs from the lighthouse and out onto a narrow track of sand, winding down off the narrow peninsula to the mainland south of us. A Wyvern was seen to our right, just down off the path. I quickly strung my longbow and let loose as alfi and Nogbad charged down to the shore to meet the beast. We despatched the monster fairly quickly, only for it's pal to appear and attack us. I put away my bow and joined the fray with my broadsword. This beast fared no better than the last, niether did a third Wyvern, which happend upon us before we had time to catch our breath.
At this time we received a call from Ra. Alfie went to collect him and Nogbad and I journeyed further down towards the main land mass, encountering a couple of Stone Gargoyles which, although harder than an average Gargoyle, were no match for the two of us. At this poit Alfie and Ra rejoined us and we decided to head on in search of further adventure, and we found it......... ...a host of monsters on a small plateau. We were over run by irritating little Imps, a number of Stone Gargoyles and Giant Scorpions. none of these in theirselves a match for us, but sheer weight of numbers made the fight much more even. A number of times members were poisoned and had to heal, but eventually we fought our way through and returned back down the narrow path that led up to the plateau, only to encounter another Wyvern, a Scorpion and a couple of Orc Mages (my pet hates!)
Quickly applying bandages as I ran, I turned and charged the Mage as Alfie too broke free and attacked it. In a couple of swipes the Orc lay dead at our feet. A close shave I thought, but nothing compared to what was to come...... "What the *&%$ is that ?" I exclaimed as a large humanoid monster approached us, obviously intent on doing damage. Not waiting for an answer Nogbad ran at it and was soon locked in battle with a Titan - for that is what it turned out to be. Unfortunately he also discovered that these creatures are not only tough, but also cast spells and soon Nogbad was running for his life. I shouted for him to remain still, so i could heal him and he stopped as I both applyed bandages and fought the beast simulataneously. Alfie and Ra, the usual red haze in his eyes, battered away also, Ra's awesome halberd cleaving the monsters flesh as we battled for our lives. Finally we laid the creature low and its large cash of loot was revealed. Rich pickings for us with 750 gold pieces on its corpse. However, our respite was short lived as another of the beasts appeared. This time I wasn't so lucky, I was too busy trying to heal Nogbad to notice I was poisoned, then the Titan hit me twice in quick succession, the world spun and everything went black.......
Dizzy and confused, I picked up my armour and weapons and shook my head, clearing the mist from my eyes, I saw the second Titan dead on the ground. Thanking Ra, I prepared for the next assault, but none came. We rested and healed our wounds before plodding onwards, into the unknown. Ra needed to return at this pont so we bade him farewell and he reaclled to safety. Nogbad, Alfie and myself continued onwards, only to meet some ghosts of adventurers who had preceeded us, a bad omen. alfie, who had never resurrected anyone before, decided to try his luck. He was gloriously successful and one warrior was returned to the land of the living. As he struggled with the forces of darkness to restore the other adventurers life, we were attacked by another Titan. Alfie stoped his task and the three of us, now wise to these beasts strengths, were able to put the monster down.
The second warrior resurrected, we felt it was time for us to return with our booty. We recalled back home, battered, bruised and satisfied with another adventure in the bag. |
