Purple Helmets Member Roster
The Purple Helmets has always had a stable membership of about 10-15
people. At our zenith, a couple of years ago, we numbered over 30 and
ran regular meetings, new player training sessions and adventures. Many
of our members have been with the guild for a number of years and are
extremely experienced, others moved on and formed guilds of their own
- and remained friends of the Purple Helmets.
Please feel free to contact any of us to discuss the guild or anything
Ultima related.

the Purple Helmets so successful over the many years it has existed, by

Lord El Hoggo
Guildmaster
|
El Hoggo is the guild's founder and leader. A veteran of many
adventures and battles, he is in his mid 40's now, wears his hair
in a blue dyed ponytail and, although maybe not as fast as he used
to be makes up for this with skill and experience.
He is a grandmaster in swordsmanship, many other martial skills
and archery. He follows the Paladin code, taught him by his great
friend Levante.
El Hoggo has a particular disliking for the undead - since they
killed his family when he was young - and has fought many battles
against these abominations.

Lord Halfhitch
Battlemage
|
Halfhitch is an old friend of El Hoggo's - the pair met when Halfy
- as he is called by his friends - was a young mage in training,
practising his craft near Skara Brae when he was rescued from some
unfriendly wolves by El Hoggo - himself a warrior in training.
They have since been on many quests and adventures together -
Halfy's advanced, grandmaster magery skills proving a perfect complement
to El Hoggo's martial abilities.

Lord Elric the Black
Dark Destroyer
|
Elric the Black first met El Hoggo and Halfhitch some years ago,
when they were adventuring together.
An unkempt, full bearded fighter, with a gruff attitude and no-nonsense
approach to life ("if it moves hit it to show it who's boss").
He is a seasoned warrior with many grandmaster weapon abilties,
and has recently taken up the Paladin code along with El Hoggo and
their mentor Levante.
Honest, trustworthy and absolutely dependable in a fight - he
adopted the uniform of Levante's old order as a sign of respect
for the old Paladin.

Lord Levante
Paladinotron
|
Levante is probably in his mid to late 50's. He was one of the
first Paladins to land on the shores of Britannia and lived for
many years in a solitary tower on Fire Island, where his secret
Paladin Order of warrior monks had placed him to watch and combat
the Demonic forces that amass there.
Now retired from "active service" with his secret order,
he owns a new house near Trinsic. A chance meeting with El Hoggo
led to his joining the Purple Helmets guild and becoming a mentor,
teaching the Palaldin code to El Hoggo and other warriors of the
guild, helping them unlock some of these awesome powers from within
themselves.
Levante is still a formidable warrior - and his fearlessness is
legendary - almost appearing reckless to those who know little of
his abilties.
He HATES Daemons with a vengeance, no-one knows exactly why.

Anne-Marie
Guild Alchy
|
Anne-Marie is El Hoggo's long suffering wife. She is a skilled
fencer and quite capable of looking after herself in battle if the
need arises. However she prefers to spend time mixing potions and
cures for the guild - using her grandmaster alchemy skills to their
utmost.
She is often seen riding around Jhelom or the forests of Britannia,
foraging for ingredients for her potions, riding on her trusty swamp
dragon, Tiddles.

|
Thomas Covenant
White Gold Wielder
|
Thomas is a moody, irritable character. He is a great friend of
El Hoggo's - they grew up together. However, whilst training to
become a warrior with El Hoggo, Thomas was struck down with leprosy
- he lost some fingers from his right hand and this made it impossible
for him to achieve the skill with weapons he had sought. At first
this made him bitter and melancholy - but a chance encounter with
the rogue Lucas Blunt led to his being apprenticed to great mages
in Magincia. He discovered his talents for the arcane arts were
far greater than his swordsmanship had ever been.
Thomas is now a grandmaster mage and spends a lot of time alone,
adventuring, exploring or obtaining artifacts, weapons and armour
for the guild.

|
Fletch
GM Toxophilist
|
Fletch is a good friend of Halfhitch, and was introduced to the
guild by him. He is a grandmaster archer and axeman of prowess.
Fletch tends to adventure alone much of the time, and also supplies
wood for the guild's needs. He often brings back tales of his adventures
to entertain his friends in a tavern.
|
|
Fred
GM Fisher of Stuff
|
Fred is El Hoggo's 17 year old son. Young and flighty. He finds
it hard to concentrate and has never really unlocked his full potential.
He is a competent archer and swordsman and he knows a little magery,
but the only thing he ever showed any perseverance at was fishing.
He pursued this with a passion and has fished up a lot of treasure
and trouble in his short life.
He has a likeable, friendly personality, he is fun to be with
and has a roguish sense of humour. One day he may mature an develop
his skills, but he is really a jack of all trades, master of none.
His most prized posession is his pet Ostard - Blue.
|
|
Tigers Eye
Keeper of Ducks
|
Tigers Eye is a El Hoggo's daughter - a young, shy girl of 14.
She is very fond of animals and likes to study, sew and read. She
is also becoming quite proficient with bow, but she prefers her
own company and that of her peers to the rest of the guild.
|
|
Bernard
Reaper of Soles
|
Bernard is a grandmaster artisan. He is especially skilled in
Leather work and tailoring. He makes a lot of the leather armour
for the guild and his work is much prized throughout the region.
|
|
Cat
Coffee Baroness
|
Cat is an extremely successful businesswoman. She is in her late
30's and lives on the mainland where she owns a number of houses
and shops. She is a skilled mage, although she is rarely seen at
guild events anymore as her business ventures demand much of her
attention.
|
|
Manx Norton
Guild Smith
|
Manx is a grandmaster smith and makes exceptional armour and weapons
for many of the guild's members. He is particularly freindly with
Levante - and is often at the Palaldin's house listening to tales
of his exploits.
Likewise, Levante is very fond of the young, but talented metalworker,
and he is equally interested in watching the skill with which Manx
practices his craft.
|
|
Mad Dog
Singing Axe
|
Mad Dog is El Hoggo's younger sister. She was lost for a long
time after the undead attack on the family, which killed their parents.
Thought dead - she did in fact survive the attack and was found
wandering in the woods by a brigand leader who took her in, raised
her as his own child and gave her her nickname - reflecting her
reckless nature.
She grew up in the woods and became a tough, fearless axewoman
of great ability. She led a lawless and hard life, and many an over
amorous man has woken up with a broken nose or arm after tangling
with her.
She was re-united with El Hoggo after setting off alone to seek
out her true past and finding him shortly after the guild began
on Jhelom.
She shares little of El Hoggo's sympathetic nature or morals,
and is intolerant of fools. Unruly, quick to anger and hard to control,
she nevertheless is devoted to El Hoggo, opposed to monarchic rule,
and fiercely loyal to the Purple Helmets - they are her true family.
